Dr. Marko Ständer co-founded the Wirbelsäulenzentrum am Stiglmaierplatz along with Dr. Medele in 2006.

For years, he has been working in clinical and scientific research with innovation treatment techniques surrounding “people suffering from back pain” and has perfected, together with Prof. Dr Steude, the facet joint interventional cryotherapy procedure

He was educated at the excellent neurological school of the Ludwig Maximilians Universität Munich located in Großhadern as a specialist in the field of neurosurgery. Already during his medical studies at the renowned medical faculty of the LMU, Dr. Ständer added to his education with work (internships) at Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and at Medizinische Akademie Magdeburg.  This was followed by additional studies abroad, at Tulane University in New Orleans, USA, and two practical semesters in Peru and Ecuador.

He has earned a doctorate degree in „Dekorin Gentransfer: Ein neuer Ansatz der Immuntherapie maligner Gliome“, from the neuro-oncology laboratory, Universitätklinikum Tübigen.

Dr. Ständer was born in Perleberg, Brandenburg. He grew up in the rural landscape district of Magdeburg. He spends his free time on mountain peaks given his skills as a trained mountain and expedition doctor.
